face to face confrontation

For an example of Symbolic Interaction, I'm gonna be talking about face to face confrontation. To be more specific, I'm gonna be talking about the face vs heel interaction in professional wrestling in both wrestling companies, WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) and TNA (Total Nonstop Action).

Definition of a Face: the good guy, or the wrestler who the crowds are intended to cheer for...Or, the good guy in the face to face confrontation.

Definition of a Heel: a wrestler getting a negative crowd reaction. (See "cheap heat" and "canned heat") Can also refer to a wrestler having negative relations with the other wrestlers or the bookers/administration of a promotion -- as in "He has heat with the locker room for last week's incident."......Or, the bad guy in the face to face confrontation.

Feud: a battle between two or more wrestlers or stables, often involving matches, promos, and angles.A feud usually lasts for several months...... Or, you could call it, negative face to face confrontation between wrestlers or stables.

Story line: The plot within the feud..... Or, to use this term again, the plot within the face to face interaction with the face wrestler and heel wrestler.

First example of face to face confrontation in a story line heading into a match and also talk about the face to face confrontation in the match itself.
For example of a match, with good guy bad guy example was the main event at Night of Champions: John Cena (the face) and CM Punk (the heel)

CM Punk, the champ, but also the wrestler with an ego, was the heel in this match. CM Punk turned heel on the 1000th episode of Raw when executed his finishing move, the "Go To Sleep" on The Rock (face). That being an example of face to face confrontation with CM Punk (heel) and The Rock (face).
Here is the video of CM Punk executing the "Go To Sleep" on The Rock after his match with John Cena on the 1000th episode of Raw and turning heel.

CM Punk giving the "Go To Sleep" to The Rock

Ever since than CM Punk has been going on an on about he has not been getting respect, whining about him only main eventing one pay-per-view since becoming WWE Champion, thinking he should get special treatment because he is the "Best Wrestler in the World". He's also had face to face confrontation with announcer Jerry "The King" Lawler, criticising his commentary when Lawler said that CM Punk turned his back on the WWE Universe, (fans) when Punk gave the "Go To Sleep" to The Rock. He the feud would heat up later when Punk challenged Lawler to a match that turned out to be a Steel Cage match and than ambushing Lawler the next episode of Monday Night Raw. These are also all examples of Symbolic Interaction with CM Punk (heel) and Lawler (face) facing off in face to face confrontation like the Steel Cage match and when CM Punk ambushed Lawler the next week.
Here is video of CM Punk Vs Jerry Lawler in a Steel Cage match. Notice how CM Punk (Heel) doesn't break the hold of his other finishing move, the Anaconda Vice after Jerry Lawler (face) taps out? That's a typical heel move.

Steel Cage match: Jerry "The King" Lawler vs CM Punk

As for the feud with John Cena (face), it had began to heat up the week before the Steel Cage match with Lawler, when Raw General Manager AJ Lee (face) rewarded CM Punk by giving him the option to pick his opponent for the next pay per view "Night of Champions", pending AJ Lee's approval. CM Punk (heel) would than pick John Cena (face), on one condition, John Cena would have to show CM Punk some respect. To show CM Punk repest, John Cena (face) would have to have a face to face confrontation with CM Punk, and admit that CM Punk is the best wrestler in the world. Cena (face) would refuse to do so because he must have the mind set in his head, that no matter what, he is the best wrestler in the world, and than Cena would than leave the ring. Than CM Punk (heel) would call out commentator Jerry Lawler, (face) and Punk asked Lawler to admit that he, CM Punk, is the best wrestler in the world. Lawler would say "No", and go on to say, "Now let me go back to doing my job". As Lawler turns his back to leave the ring, Punk kicks Lawler in the back of the head and the show ends. The next week on Raw before the Steel Cage match with CM Punk and Jerry Lawler, Raw GM AJ Lee would announce that CM Punk would defend his WWE Title against John Cena.

The two examples of face to face confrontation are CM Punk (heel) asking John Cena (face) to admit that CM Punk is the best wrestler in the world and Cena refusing to do so. The other is CM Punk (heel), asking commentator Jerry Lawler (face) to admit that he is the best wrestler in the world, than Lawler turning his back on Punk, than Punk kicking Lawler in the Punk of the head.

Here is the two face to face confrontations Punk has with Cena and than Lawler.
